Getting Started
Meetings What meetings? Most of my business is done by phone or internet with people miles away. Saves us both time and money.
Timeframe I can provide a firm date for my first draft once I’ve received:
- your approval of my written estimate
- your first installment payment
- all the background information and materials I need
How long it takes me to do a first draft depends on the project. It also depends on getting enough information to start. You may have provided me with everything I need for a quote, but probably I need more details.
What I Need from You To do the job you deserve, I need to have a pretty good insight into your operation. If you’ve done this before, you already know the drill. If not, I have a Q&A called a "Creative Brief" which I can send you. Among the things I’ll need to know are:
- the benefits of your product or service
- why it’s unique or better
- what claims you want to make about it
- your brand’s "personality"
- your target audience
- your "Call to Action"
If this is new to you, don’t fret. All the terms are explained and if, for instance, your brand doesn’t have a "personality" or you don’t have a "call to action," then this is the perfect time for the two of us to create those.
(If you’d rather do this by phone, we can do that. The advantage of writing something down is that it reduces the chances of miscommunication.
And, by the way, be sure to send me any helpful files or links.
