Standing Strong

Ask an FEC lineman like Ron Waldroup his most important piece of equipment and he’s likely to answer his boots. Sturdy and safe, they keep him grounded – even thirty feet up. They’re not ordinary. And neither are we. We’re not just another power company. We’re a cooperative. Most utilities are corporations, owned by stockholders. We’re owned by our members, our customers. And that makes all the difference.

FEC has thirty-two thousand member-owners, each one with a vote in co-op policy. Our members understand that for more than sixty years, FEC has stood for straight talk, fair rates, reliable power and prompt courteous service. Our employees are local people, many of them FEC members. They’re your friends, your neighbors. Your community is theirs too.

That’s why when you need help or information, you can count on FEC people, whether they’re on the pole like Ron or on the phone like our folks in Member Service. Neighbors working together: that’s the principle FEC and other Texas co-ops were founded on. Then and now, we believe in going the extra mile. We wear out a lot of boots that way, but what’s a little leather for a neighbor?
