My Video/Radio Portfolio

Instead of the usual clip reel, I decided to make my television work more fun to do and watch, so I edited representative clips into this private eye spoof, which I did with two friends.

The skit itself goes back to the glory years of Austin’s celebrated Esther’s Follies, the musical-comedy-magic revue. Jake Ratchett, Short Detective—a tribute to the golden era of radio drama and pulp fiction—ran for five years as the Follies’ spotlight attraction. It was the work of myself and the inimitable actress-comedienne Terry Galloway (who still occasionally does it at her improv theatre in Florida).

We shot this in 2005 under the direction and camera work of that phenomenal one-man video band, Bruce Maness. It may or may not be the funniest clip reel you’ve ever seen. I guarantee it’s the weirdest.
